HISTORY
Friends of Good Samaritan began in 1989
as a small group of volunteer physicians, nurses and other
medically-related, concerned individuals who traveled to Limbe,
Haiti to provide surgery for the patients of Hopital Le Bon
Samaritain. The original trip lasted one week and laid the
groundwork for what Friends of Good Samaritan has become today.
Each year a team of about 10 volunteers returns to Hopital le Bon
Samaritain. This group volunteers their services for a week at a
time. The gentleman shown here is general surgeon, Dr. Kenneth
Eckhert, Jr., the founder of the Friends of Good Samaritan.
